22 November The Day for the young dogs in Voorthuizen. 22 November 1987. For the first time a day for young dogs.121 dogs in the age from 3 - 18 months, often in the accompany with one or both parents proudly present themselves to the 3 judges. Their comments: Peter v. Montfoort: We see big and mighty dogs again from the right type. Good coats and correct and complete denture. One has to be careful on the front and the croup. Ton Muller: The line we saw at the breeding ability test is continuing. A lot less nervous and fearful dogs. There is winning in strength. There are a lot of weak pastern and very much depigmentation in the lips and the nails. But nevertheless a touch of satisfaction. Marieken v. Nimwegen. There is still not much uniformity in the breed. I saw very good and complete denture. Beautiful dark eyes, well placed. All overall correct movement and good temperament. A point of attention on the front legs. They need improvement. A few times I saw a too long and narrow muzzle.
We close the year 1987 with the Christmas Show in Wychen on the 19 of December. 9 Leonbergers proudly showed themselves. Raden Atjuro v.d. Geishahof (E. Woldringh) becomes BOB and later in the Ring of Honour brings it to number 3 in the Group.
To be continued.
